Zoldycks will Defeat the Spiders

When talking about the strongest characters in the Hunter X Hunter universe, two groups would usually be thrown into the discussion -- the Zoldycks and the Spiders. The former is a family of assassins while the latter is composed of thieves. But both are definitely efficient killers. Because of this, it is only natural to pit the two and determine who will emerge victorious.

For those who are new to the Hunter X Hunter universe, it is worth noting that the Zoldycks are world renowned assassins. They are portrayed in the HxH universe as top class assassins whose targets don't survive. Because of this, if someone wants someone dead, the Zoldycks will definitely get the job done (provided they can afford them).

On the other hand, the Spiders ( also known as Genei Ryodan or the Phantom Troupe) is a group of murdering thieves. The members are always portrayed to vicious capable opponents that are not afraid of a anybody -- even death.

So moving on, who will when the two groups are pitted with one another?

If it would be the old Spider lineup (with Uvogin, Hisoka, and Paku still with the group), the Troupe would probably win, but also taking significant damage.

However, removing Uvo and Hisoka from the equation, the Zoldycks might win.

Let's look at the facts:

• The Zoldycks are instructed never to fight opponents stronger than them. But Silva and Zeno still accepted the job to kill the Spiders (not just Chrollo, but all Spiders which is a common misconception -- it just so happens that Chrollo is the first Genei Ryodan they encountered)
• Kalluto and Illumi actually joined the Ryodan. It's either these two are idiots, are fearless, or they don't see the Spiders as that much of a threat.
• Silva killed a Spider member. Sure he complained that the pay was not enough, but still he accomplished killing his target
• Silva survived Chrollo. Chrollo is known to be close to his Spiders and if a member is killed, he would take revenge (Uvo, Paku, etc...). However, Silva survived Chrollo's revenge -- and for those wondering why Silva did not kill Chrollo, it's simply because Zoldycks don't kill people they're not paid to. This might also imply what Silva meant when he said that the pay is not enough for the mission
• The Zoldycks' base of operation is a known tourist spot. Meaning they don't hide and actually welcome any attackers. That is how confident they are

Fight Setting

Additionally, if the following setting will be followed, the Zoldycks will definitely eliminate the Spiders.

1. If Ryodan would decide to ambush and steal from the Zoldyck mansion, the defense might take out that guy who dances and the girl with the vacuum cleaner. Defense here means low tier butlers, wild monsters, and even Milluki's security tech if there are any
2. Spiders who survive the mansion's first line of defense will then have to contend with more serious opponents. This may include butlers in the level of Gotoh. If there are 10 or more Gotoh-level butlers, it could take out Franklin and Machi.
3. The only Spiders left would be Feitan, Phinx, Chrollo, Machi, Nobunaga
4. Illumi can take out Nobunaga easy (since Hisoka has. K interest in fighting him, this could mean that Illumi is stronger)
5. Maja can take out Feitan (seeing that the old dude can go toe to toe with Chairman Netero)
6. Killua and Kalluto can take out Feitan (the two are definitely stronger now)
7. The mother and that old lady butler can take out Machi
8. Zeno and Silva can take out Phinx first (easy) then finishing off Chrollo

The above can be considered as an ideal setting in favor of the Zoldycks. Don't get me wrong, I like both groups. However, one must not confuse murderous intent with killing skill. Sure the Spiders are HxH's powerful murdering bad boys -- but the Zoldycks are the most efficient killers in the series. This was poven with the family's history with the Chairman and Hisoka not interested in fighting off any members of the Ryodan except for Chrollo.
