It is funny how many people think that Chrollo
Lucifer can kill Silva Zoldyck. Let’s face it, in the Hunter X Hunter universe
(manga and anime), both Chrollo and the Phantom Troupe’s notorious reputation
almost rivals that of the Zoldyck’s family of assassins.

But realtalk, Chrollo cannot defeat Silva
because of the following reasons:
1. Silva is as strong as Uvo even
though he is not an Enhancer
Remember when Uvogin concentrated nen to his
fist and made a crater using his most powerful move, the big bang attack? Well,
Silva can do the same without using nen but with just physical strength alone. This
is evident when Silva also made a crater when he killed Cheetuh. Basically, due
to the Zoldyck’s grueling extensive training it develops their physical
strength which can be seen with Silva’s body built
2. Chrollo cannot kill Silva even
if he wanted to
Chrollo loves his comrades. This is seen when
he orchestrated the revenge-massacre as requiem to Uvo’s death. Unfortunately,
Chrollo cannot kill Silva on their first encounter when Silva killed a member
of the Phantom Troupe.
As the story goes, Silva was tasked to kill a
member of the Spider. Chrollo seeking vengeance confronted Silva.
Unfortunately, Silva is stronger which is why Chrollo is unable to finish the
assassin despite wanting to get vengeance. But Silva Zoldyck did acknowledge
Chrollo’s strength -- but sadly, it was not enough to defeat him.
3. Chrollo is afraid of death
Chrollo accepted his death but this does not
mean that he welcomes it. This is seen when he tries to avoid powerful
opponents. He tried to avoid Hisoka and chose a place that is truly
advantageous to him. He knows that the Zoldycks will be hired to take him down
which is why he had their employers killed
4. Silva is not afraid to die
The Zoldycks are assassin and they know that
being killed is part of their job. Remember during the Zoldyck’s fight with
Chrollo, They mentioned that if killing Chrollo requires also sacrificing their
lives, then so be it. That is how committed the Zoldycks are in their craft.
5. If the fight continued, Zeno
and Silva will definitely kill Chrollo
If you would analyze it, Chrollo is forced to
use a poisonous knife whose venom is enough to kill a whale. But he didn’t know
that it has no effect on Silva.
Chrono was able to accurately analyze Chrollo’s
moves and intentions. Also, when Silva boosted his nen, Chrollo got fearfully
distracted which is why Zeno is able to grab him.
Maybe Chrollo assumed that only Silva will
arrive to attack him but was not expecting Zeno to tag along. So in a battle
without sufficient preparation, Chrollo will lose (maybe this is the reason why
it took him a year to finally decide to fight Hisoka)
Don’t get me wrong, I also like Chrollo but
reality check, he is not enough to kill Silva with the given facts. The
Zoldycks family is a long line of assassins trained in the art of nen. On the
other hand, the Phantom Troupe is not. However, even though Silva will win, it
would not be an easy win.
Let’s just say that in the HxH manga and anime,
Silva is in the same level as Ging, Razor, etc.. Chrollo is just in the level
of Illumi and Hisoka. This might be the reason why Illumi and Kalluto are not
afraid of joining them despite knowing that Killua has direct connection with
the chain user.

If Chrollo cannot kill Silva, maybe Silva cannot also kill Chrollo which is why he is still alive
ReplyDeletePossible. Or maybe because Silva was not paid to kill Chrollo. Remember when how sad Zeno is when he thought he killed Komugi by accident noting that it is the first time he may have killed someone he is not supposed to

ReplyDeleteChrollo is a tactician. But he cannot defeat the two most powerful members of the Zoldycks. Just look at Zeno, he was able to analyze Chrollo's move and said that to steal a strong nen, it needs at least 5 requirements. Zeno also understood that Chrollo needs practice to use the nen that he stole. This is why it took him a year to select a proper place and practice Shalnark and Kortopi's skills.
ReplyDeleteI actually like Chrollo more than Silva. But real talk, he needs to get a new and strong ability aside from the Sun and Moon (the fish and blanket are useless for combat)
