Smart Unlimited Data Problems Errors Disadvantages

FINALLY! Was able to get hold of Smart’s so-called Rocket SIM. Have been using GOMO’s unli offer for the past few months and truthfully, am extremely satisfied with it. Although there are also GOMO Problems, Errors, and Issues, but when everything is said and done, it gets the job done.

Going back to Smart, for some reason, the company seems to be copying the strategy of GOMO. If one is to think about it, Smart offered its own no-expiration data allocation and then released the unlimited thingy. Of course, in a business perspective, Smart somewhat imitating GOMO makes a lot of sense. GOMO is a newcomer but has quickly gained traction and captured customers thanks to their immortal allocation that is not expiring, convertible data, and then their unlimited offer.

But one tends to ask why only now Smart? If the telco can offer such “magic” and “unli” promos, why not do it sooner? That would be an interesting showdown when all 3 players (Smart, Gomo, and Dito) offered unli data promos at the same time

Anyway, let’s not be sidetracked any further as this post is all about problems, errors, issues, and disadvantages of Smart’s unli data promo.

GigaLife App Registration Difficulty

Once the Rocket SIM arrived, it was immediately placed in a mobile device. There were some SMS messages but did not pay much attention to it since Gigalife app is already installed on the device. Now here comes the strange part, it says that the SIM cannot be added as a secondary device.

Was not able to capture the exact error message since panic kicked in (first thought that came to mind is that the SIM was defective) since 499 pesos is no small fee. However, after some tinkering and thinking, was finally able to solve the error by removing the Rocket SIM from the mobile phone and inserting it in a Smart Bro Pocket WiFi

It turns out that the Rocket SIM is no regular prepaid SIM but is actually a type of Smart Bro SIM. Anyway, was finally able to register the Rocket SIM. The mentioned error is not that a big of a deal but can be quite vexing for those who might not be able to figure it out.

So far, the above situation is the only encountered error or problem worth mentioning since the Rocket SIM only arrived a few days ago. Here’s hoping that other readers who experienced the same may find this useful.

Aside from the issue stated, the Rocket SIM is quite good and also gets the job done as it can handle the load wherein 4 devices are connected simultaneously for online work and online school.
